Jaanika

Anglers use our gear to catch fish all over the world. And someone has to make sure we get that gear from A to B on time. One of our logistics experts is Jaanika, who works as a logistics coordinator in our distribution facility in Pärnu, Estonia.

What does a logistics coordinator at Rapala VMC do?

I do a whole lot of things! My main focus is coordinating the outbound distribution – the goods that go out. I make sure that deliveries go out on time and the documentation is correct. But I also prepare documentation for declarations, help with customer inquiries, and different day-to-day tasks. And whenever I have spare time, I help my colleagues with inbound logistics.

What brought you and Rapala VMC together?

Last year, after living in England for 15 years, I decided it was time to come back home to Estonia. I had applied to quite a few jobs – and I actually had to decide from several different offers. I picked this job, and I haven’t looked back!

What’s your favorite part of the job?

As you might guess, my job changes from day to day – and I like that. And then there are the people. I communicate with the teams all the time, and I love getting along with everyone!

So, how about that fishing?

I haven’t done that much fishing. But last winter, we had a team day out on the frozen Pärnu River. Unfortunately, the only thing I caught was a cold! However, my father’s a keen angler and he’s got a boat, so I’m sure I’ll be doing more fishing in the future.

If you were a Rapala lure, which one would you be?

This is a tough question – probably the most colorful one!
